Diamond instruments are used comprehensively in the industry such as aerospace, electronics, stone, construction, mines, metal wires, drawing, extension, grinding and cutting for metals difficult to be processed.

While grinding by traditional carborundum and aluminum oxide emery wheels, it will come with bias and uneven surface. Therefore it is necessary to trim by diamond dresser. Meanwhile the dresser also needs to be trimmed periodically to recover character of sharpness.

Choosing an appropriate diamond dresser by different dimensions on emery wheels. Contact slowly from the center to avoid any direct crash. Keeping an angle of 10°to 15°both on the horizon and vertical between diamond dresser and emery wheel. Move around the dresser in some cases to make an acute angle again.

 

Dressers are classified into the following:

1. Single point dresser: only one-piece diamond in the stem.
2. Conical angle dresser: grinding the single point dresser and make the diamond in conical shape.
3. Forming dresser: grinding the single point dresser and make the diamond in roof shape.
4. Integrated dresser: sintering by a few small particles of diamonds and inlay into a stem.
5. Multi-stone dresser: inlaying a few pieces of diamonds into a stem.
